A small piece of dyeing happening. It's been awhile since I've bundled any solo eco-dyeing, but a young friend inspired me. She had been asking me about a particular plant for months. I knew I knew the plant but couldn't seem to place her until yesterday. Sumac! Of course! Staghorn Sumac to be precise, definitely not a common sighting around the PNW, although nice to see she can thrive here.
So after remembering the name, I decided I would see how the leaves and berries dye paper and sandwiched a small piece of silk. Also threw in a few staghorn buttons (that I've had laying around about 20 years) since there has been so much button talk lately. Still in the pot but will see how this emerges.
